The Bahamas

Ive been in scouting since I was young. I actually joined my Cub Scout Troop when I was seven years old and in 1st grade. High school soon hit and I had joined my Boy Scout troop, Troop 276. The troop I was in offered many different high adventure choices for us to do, and I was eager for something new. Up to this point in my life, I had never left the country, and only been on a plane one other time. I love flying, even though I'm afraid of heights. The feeling of being so high above the Earth takes my breath away. My freshmen year summer I was 15 years old when I left the country for the first time. It didn't really hit me till I stepped off the plane and was bombarded with all kinds of sights, sounds, and smells that filled my senses. We then hoped in a taxi, and met our captain in his dingy at the docks. He then drove us out to where his boat was anchored in the harbor. He give us a quick tour after we stowed our bags away and then we set off into the sunset lit horizon. We spent the next week, fishing, sailing, snorkeling, and sight seeing the man different islands of The Bahamas. I miss it, and I hope I will get the chance to go back some day.
