just listen...

Madden 10

I've played a lot of games in my days but there is one that always comes to mind when I think anger and anxiety. Madden. Any of them, not just the newest version of the game. I've played some many different versions of the game throughout the years but I'd have to say the most painful to play is Madden 10. The game is very well made. Crisp clear picture, almost life like players. They even have live ticker and simulated half time reports from recorded sports anchors. Over all a great game if you look at how its put together. But I can't help but look at all the negatives at the same time. Walking up from class and down my hall hearing several of my neighbors screaming at digital referee and throwing remotes into the couch leads me to believe there is some kind of mutual hate for Madden. And as much as it makes all of us mad, we play it almost every day. And I know the game will continue to do well throughout the years to come. Damn you John Madden.

CAN'T WAIT!!

The Abominables

When I was a freshmen in High School I joined a band called The Abominables. The band consisted of myself on vocals, matt weaver on lead guitar, eric fancher on rhythm guitar, chris mcardle on bass, and erich hills on drums. I spent a majority of every week at erich's house practicing and screwing around in the recording studio that his dad owned. I loved every second of it and I still talk about all the good times I had with those four guys. I remember one time in particular after we did a sample recording, we went out into the woods to see what we could find. We stumbled across an old bridge that had collapsed and the cement foundations were still in the ground. We thought it would be a good idea, because we were young, to take a crap in the hole and then light it on fire, almost burning down the whole forest. HAHA! Good times. I miss them all.

Kenya Prisoners

For the past 16 years a local Kenyan, Grace Mokeira, sat in prison waiting in fear for the day she would be put to death by the hangman. That all changed last month when the Kenyan President, Mwai Kibaki, announced she would be changing all death sentences to life in prison, which made Kenya the latest country to do so. "My life was worthless," Mokeira, 32, says she feels like she has a second chance at life, almost like a breath of relief. "Now I have a future. I have a vision for what I can do." She is now waiting to be reviewed by a probation officer, because her time spent in prison and recent wave of death penalty make her a possible candidate for a presidential pardon. If she is released from prison she hopes to record gospel song and start her own business.

Peer Review

Does the first paragraph end with a thesis?

Possibly the most difficult thing to any high school or college essay. It was always a struggle for me in high school to form a correct thesis and fully understand that what I was writing, was actually helpful to the paper. I wrote a good thesis little to no times and I still do not know how to correctly write one. When I think of a good paper, the first thing I usually try and identify where thesis is in the first paragraph and how it relates to the authors topic. Its helpful to be able to identify this because I can easily translate it over to my own work to form a semi-decent paper. I really hope that some day it will become second nature to me.

Never Gonna Give You Up

Rick Astley

“Never Gonna Give You Up”

“We’re no strangers to love. You know the rules and so do I. A full commitments what I’m thinking of. You wouldn’t get this from any other guy.”

The lines above are from the very beginning of the song in the first verse. From this first verse I can conclude that he and his audience, which I believe is a female, know each other well. He also makes it very clear that he wants this individual to be in his life with some sort of commitment and is giving all the reasons why they should be together. This individual has been in his past and they know eachother well enough that they may have developed past rules from their previous relationship. A good example of some rules might be in his repetitive chorus, never gonna tell a lie and hurt you. The repetition in his choruses paints a picture that he may have hurt her in the past and would never do it again. I can also pull that it almost seems difficult for the two of them to start this relationship again because of how the past one may have ended.
